      This is a jelly fish called a Portuguese Man o-war that washes up on the Atlantic Ocean Beaches here on the east coast of the US. All I remember as a child is how bad they sting when you step on them. We used to pop them with sticks. Isn’t that terrible?

        That’s really horrid, poor things!! Ha ha I think the stings were Karma! You should set up a jellyfish rescue by way of penance!

    Oh thanks. I’ve had many a sting from those pink tentacles… Used to like to pop the balloon sac on the dead ones, too. Even dead, they could sting! We had them on the FL Gulf coast.
