Has it really been 3 weeks since our last post. It is weird taking off that much time after so many years of blogging everyday. Since then Mom has taught 3 blogging courses at the college, did her day job, moved Peanut into her own apartment at university, and taken us for about a million short walks because it is tooo hottt for long one. We are now into the DOG DAZ of Summer! All we want to do is snooze inside the air conditioned house. Sofie won’t go outside half the time because she does not like to sweat (but she does love to swim). Louise thinks maybe the front door exits to a cooler place than the back, so she is always trying a different exit.
It looks like a normal day outside until Mom opens the door. Then…. blast! Heat comes at us like no tomorrow (what does that mean?). You would think we live in the tropics not the mid-Atlantic. Better to stay inside with the cats.
We missed being on the internet for a few weeks, it was hard. But, we are back. Now to go to all your blogs and catch up on our reading.
What mischief did you get into today?

Welcome back – sounds like you’ve been super busy! I think like no tomorrow is something that happens very fast and with not much thought ahead of time? We’re getting through the last of winter and had a couple of very spring-like days this past weekend. Stay cool.

Oh yes, we are upside down. I love that somewhere you are getting spring flowers.

Glad you are back :o) I’m with you Sofie… I always check all doors when it rains … maybe the back door has better weather than the front door… it theoretically could be, right?

Easy – I want a weather machine that ensures it is always beautiful outside. Oh, I think that is called California – DogDaz

Welcome home! I love this street nap hot weather. But sometimes Mom drags me inside because it’s “too hot” – I don’t even know what those words mean!
Love and licks,
Cupcake

Cupcake – Louise is like that. For a black dog, Mom worries that she will burn up in the sun. – Sofie, the napper

Hi Y’all!
My Humans moved way, way south of y’all on the coast from the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. We spend summers in the southeastern mountains. My Human said to tell you that she has never before or since since heat and humidity combined like what she experienced on the Bay. Neither the Texas summers nor the summers at the shore where we are now are as miserable as summers were on the Bay. Good luck staying cool my friends.
Y’all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog

We call it the Bay effect. If you are not in the water you basically are toast.

Yes – it is definitely a hot summer here too! The Boys have been walking around in the backyard most of the days lately because the asphalt is entirely too hot. After 7:30pm we go for a walk because the temperature seems to be a tad cooler – but not much!

I try to get Sofie to walk on the grass and not the street but for some reason she won’t. Lulu has figured out the grass is cooler. I try to stick to the shadows.

The nice thing about hot summer days are the chance for some of those good thunderstorms! 🙂
