It was a really temperate first day of the year here in the MidAtlantic. It is rare this time of year to have our days be in the 50s. The dogs and I really appreciated it, but by the time I got my act together today and got out of my pajamas to go for a walk, it started to shower on us. I just kept walking even though I did not have an umbrella. Oh well, I am not made of sugar, so I knew I would not melt and the dogs deserved their first walk of the year. I wish it was easier to walk the 2 of them, the trouble is that neither one walks easily by them self, so why would they walk nicely together. It isn’t that they pull terribly but they wonder from side to side, and when you have 2 of them, it is this dance that you have to do with the leashes. I know that I am suppose to walk them separately so that they learn to walk better, but I really do not have that much time. I walk them for 1 hour a day and if I were to separate them (which they would not like (well maybe Louise would)), then I would need to leave one home and come back after 30 minutes or take one in the morning and one in the evening (I don’t think I like that idea). We had a nice rainy walk and stayed out for about 1 1/2 today. If anyone has suggestions on walking 2 puppies at the same time, I would love to hear them. The first DogDaz of 2012.
