Today is a day that I tend to reflect on things that I have lost. When I was 10 years old, my house burnt down on March 10. When I was 40 years old, my Dad went to the Great Meadow in the Sky on March 10. So, today, I am thinking about one of the great loves of my life who is gone, Squash E. Bear. It was a year last month that he left us. He was one of the most incredible dogs in the universe. I miss you big guy!

What a beautiful dog! I know exactly how you feel about the extra special bond with a pet, for me that was me and my Buddy (epileptic beagle mix), he passed away almost 9 months ago. still not over it. Miss him everyday! Sending you positive thoughts today!

We all have that special ♥ dog, don’t we? Squash E. Bear was equally fortunate to have you in his life. May you always remember the happy times.

Yes Linda – I cherished him and I know he was grateful for the home he found after many years on the road.

What a handsome boy. The two of you were lucky to find each other and share lots of love.
Licks and cuddles,

I know exactly how you feel about him – we had one like that who stood out against all the others even though they were all loved, but she was different. We lost her two years ago and she is still sorely missed.
Squash and you shared a unique relationship; treasure your memories of him always. He was a beautiful boy.

Barb – I have a big pic of Squash (the one of him lying down looking up on the blog) next to my bed with a small bundle of his hair tucked inside it. I do treasure his memory and he is always with me. Now he watches over the new zoo pack from a far. Thanks for your thoughts.

We have a big picture of Penny, the one we lost two years ago, next to our bed too! She was a Llasa Apso, very beautiful – but with attitude! I think that’s what made her so special to us. Since she’s been gone, our other dog Poppy (a shih-tzu) is developing the same kind of attitude now she hasn’t got Penny bossing her around!
Have you written a post about how Bear came into your life?

Thanks for asking and making me look back. When I first started this blog thing last Nov, I used to just give the blogs date and time instead of names. Now I have named that one: https://dogdaz.com/2011/12/21/12-21-11-931/
