Sofie and Nine are so cute together. Sofie preens him like he is her little baby and she is keeping him clean. I have always had cats and dogs that had special bonds. Nikki dog loved Alice cat. Alice used to do this little dance in front of Nikki and nudge her on the nose. Miss Constance Kitty really loved Squash E Bear. She would hang on his tail like it was another kitten and he would wag and wag to make her move up and down playfully. But this relationship between Sofie and Nine is interesting to me. I have never seen a dog nibble on the cat before, and I have never seen them snuggle for long periods of time like these 2 do. Now, don’t be mistaken here, Sofie still chases Nine down the hall when she feels like it and say ‘I’m the dog so you better run!,” but I think their relationship is special. Does your dog and cat snuggle? Louise will tolerate the cats but she doesn’t want them to near for to long, which to me seems the more ‘normal’ cat/dog relationship. I just love what Sofie and Nine have.

Our dogs and cat DO NOT snuggle. They will tolerate Bob on the bed ONLY if he comes up when they are already sleeping. Most times they won’t even tolerate him in the room! Sometimes though they are nice (I’ve seen Sampson lick Bob’s ear) but most times they just chase the cat and want to play with him.

My cats like to snuggle up to me and we play together. I move my tail for them to catch.

My Bengal loves dogs better than cats! He would love to curl up with his dog more often, but she gets irritated with his loving approach. I understand – Bengal boy Spot is just TOO much in your face – literally, in the dog’s case – and his fur gets in our eyes in a most unpleasant way. I was happy, though, when Spot decided to adore his second dog as much as the one he knew from birth 🙂

I wish my kitty would cuddle with my dog! They would be so cute together. Over the last five years, the cat has become more and more tolerant of the 70 lb dog, but I hope one day before Len dies (he’s 14) I see the two of them sleeping peacefully together. I also think the cat is missing out on some awesome help on the grooming front by not letting a very licky dog lick him! I guess I’m not communicating. 🙂
