Stells’s new thing lately is to sneak out of her room, whenever the door is left ajar, which it shouldn’t be and hide under my bed across the hall. (To be honest, I know that V thinks she gets lonely in her private master cat suite and leaves the door open for her to explore until, of course, there is a catfight in the hall.) I think Stella thinks it’s funny to go under the bed until another cat comes to check her out and then she freaks out and runs back into her room, hopefully with no other cats trailing behind. Fur does fly around here sometimes. Stella really likes Sofie and Louise, but not Charles, so they are the only other animals that she wants in her space. Ahh the life with a zoo.
Is a cat’s temperament determined by color? I have been reading some interesting studies. Mini Cooper says she is never ‘naughty!’ Does your color match your temperament?
Ahh! to be Mini Cooper the youngest member of the Zoo. She is so precious. Very much like a dog, running with the pack and demanding attention, yet so beautifully cat too. She is one fearless cat and that sometimes can serve her well and at others scares the heck out of me. She is always loving on the other animals and humans, licking dog ears, and kneading human thighs. Sometimes I wonder where all those little scabs on my legs are from and then I remember Mini was sitting on my lap last night. Every cat that has blessed my family has been unique, but this one, well she is just so…. Mini Cooper.
Noel is every present when I am eating at the kitchen table. For some reason, she thinks there is some food in it for her. Sorry NoNo but Mom is having her morning coffee and that is just not good for you.
Why is it that I cannot resist jumping into a box, any box, no matter what the size. I feel obsessed with anything box. Is this normal? Should I seek professional help?
Sincerely, Binky

Dear Binky, Your obsession with boxes is absolutely cat-normal. We all do. I love a good box. A box makes me feel safe and is comfy and cozy. A good box gives me a great vantage point from which to jump out at my brother or sister cats, and even at those pesky dogs (if I wasn’t afraid Sofie would eat me). In a deep box, no one can crawl up behind me. As you can see in this video, boxes are a natural part of being feline. Just relax and enjoy your obsession. Your friend, Noel
The primary color of my wardrobe is black. My second color is navy and then dark gray. Are you seeing a pattern here? Well Mr. Nine, who has always liked the hanging clothes closet as a sleeping spot (it is actually two 6-foot closets running along one wall with sliding mirror doors), has taken to pulling stuff down off the hangers and making himself a bed on the shelf. Oh my! Sometimes, at 5 am when I am getting dressed for work, he jumps out at me and we both get scared. Lint rollers don’t even work anymore. Long ago I realized he can slide the doors open on his own and go inside. No keeping him out. I have my black suits and dresses hidden in a closet under the stairs that the cats can’t get into (unless of course, they run in when I am getting dressed and get trapped all day, which has happened). Cat and dog hair is my life.

Don’t forget our fallen citizens today on Sept, 11. The world is getting more and more unstable as the days pass. Remember those innocents who lost their lives today and every day.
