Mom received this very cool butterfly and cat picture in the mail from one of her friends from High School that lives all the way on the other side of the country. It was such a wonderful surprise. She said she was looking for some stuff at a thrift shop and she found it and knew it would be perfect for us. We know that it must have been loved for many years before it came to us because it smelled purrfect!
Best of all it had crinkly paper that we love to chew on.
I can not imagine a life without cats (and butterflies).

K8 says when she comes home from work the kittens* are on the steps yelling at her.
Nine: “So where have you been all day, huh?”
Stella: “Oh, Nine, let Katie get in the door!”
Nine: “Now that you’re here, Human, feed us!”
*I know Nine is probably 4 years old and Stella 3, but they will always be the kittens until there are new ones.

One of the coolest things about having a white cat is how photogenic they are. I especially like the effect that her eyes got when i took the photo down to its very raw level. And, though it may look like wall paper, she is actually standing next to a bunch of potted plants.
Noel will be 7 this month. I call her the “Christmas Cat” because we adopted her (and Miss Constance Kitty – RIP) in December 2007 and Last Chance Rescue named her Noel, which stuck. She has turned out to be a wonderful, funny, loving, and healthy kitty. You can read about her terrible start in life in an older post called: Near Death to Alpha. Don’t let anyone tell you that the momentary heartache of rescuing the sick, injured, and abused isn’t worth the years of happiness on the other side. Thank you Noel for picking me to hang out with.

Zackary was a sweet, shy boy. He was so different from his twin sister, Cuddles (the meanest cat in the house). They were Russian Blues. He loved to be up on things and look down, whether on the kitchen counter or a step. Over the years he became more sure of himself and would actually lie with a human on the couch, especially if it was a young human. Zacky had that “afternoon crazy chase your tail before dinner” syndrome that used to crack us up. You cat people know what I mean.
Miss you big boy, it has been 4 years this month.
