Wonderful Wednesday: Wood You Believe That

The gang in woodcut. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Mom needs to take a few weeks off from blogging. She is having eye surgery because can’t see very well. We shall return as soon as the fog clears which hopefully is before Yule. We promise we will take good care of her and make sure she has tons of licks and love. SEE you soon!

Wonderful Wednesday: We Are Hungry! Always!

This is a picture of Louise and Sofie almost immediately after eating breakfast. You would think they didn’t just have full bowls of the most nutritious high-quality dog food.

“Whatever Mommy is eating must be better and must be shared!!”

They crack me up.

Do your animals EVER stop begging? What you don’t see in this picture is Noel, the Christmas cat, on the kitchen table trying to steal my bagel while I am looking at the dogs.

Wonderful Wednesday: Besties

Sofie & Louise 2012

When it is cold outside, I like to remember warm sunny days to help me get through the frost. I can’t believe this picture was 7 years ago. In the end, if Louise really wants the toy, she will take it away from Sofie in one yank. But she is really kind to Sofie and lets her have things (like a good older sister should). The green carrot is long gone, but the memories are golden.

Wonderful Wednesday: The Master of Fall

Squash E Bear Fall 2007

Squash E Bear
Fall 2007

It wouldn’t be fall without a look back at the master of fall himself, Squash E. Bear. He looked great in the fall leaves with his big fluffy coat. Squash was the kind of dog that people would just stop and look at; “Can I pet him?” “What is he?” Once people actually stopped their car when I was walking him to ask about him. And then there was the time he and I were in a pet food store buying food and there was one of those weekend pet adoption fairs going on and someone actually tried to buy him off me. He just always attracted people and other animals to him.

What are some of your favorite animal fall moments?

Miss you every day, Big Guy. Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Wonderful Wednesday: The Obedient Plant

The funny thing about Physostegia Virginiana, The Obedient Plant, is that it is anything but obedient. If you are not careful, it will take over the whole garden; kind of like a house full of animals takes over the house. Have a beautiful fall day!!

Wonderful Wednesday: Mr. Contrary

I have to laugh how in sync the animals are. Sometimes even the cats lie on the floor with the dogs in the same positions. We get lots of mirroring around the zoo. Mr. Charles cracked me up on this day because Louise and Sofie were lying one way and he was lying the other way, busy, as usual, chewing on a toy. It reminded me of the old nursery rhyme:

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.[1]
