The funny thing about Physostegia Virginiana, The Obedient Plant, is that it is anything but obedient. If you are not careful, it will take over the whole garden; kind of like a house full of animals takes over the house. Have a beautiful fall day!!

I am starving. How come you get ice cream* and I get bupkis (nothing, nada)? Humans are so unfair when it comes to doling out snacks. They seem to have no trouble making all these scrumptious things and what do we canines get??? Marrow bones and occasional peanut butter. I want more!!!!
- Mommy doesn’t eat dairy so it was some kind of Cashew Milk Salted Carmel concoction with Coconut whip on top. I still wanted to try it.

Peanut is moving out into her own place today. No more living with the parents. Though she has come and gone to college, and her year in Isreal, this is different. After 25 years, this time, she is finally fledging from the nest for good. She is doing a lot of cat hugging and dog cuddling, She mostly says she will miss Noel and her morning ritual with Mini Cooper.
Best of luck, Baby. The zoo will be here when you need cat and dog fur on your clothes.

I have to laugh how in sync the animals are. Sometimes even the cats lie on the floor with the dogs in the same positions. We get lots of mirroring around the zoo. Mr. Charles cracked me up on this day because Louise and Sofie were lying one way and he was lying the other way, busy, as usual, chewing on a toy. It reminded me of the old nursery rhyme:
Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.[1]

A storm was coming, as is usual in August. K8 snapped a picture of all 3 dogs hoping that I could save them from the impending booms. It is rare that you get a shot of me with all of them. I love my goofballs.

No mischief today as we honor the passing of 2 great doggies and send prayers of healing to another.
Our neighborhood friend, Finnegan, who was a gentle giant and therapy dog passed this month. He will leave a large gap in the community pack.
Sadly, our California friend, Princess OG, who was her mother’s light on dark days, passed on as well. She was a great swimmer and hiking buddy and we know that she is smiling down on her family from the meadow above.
As their spirits rise over the rainbow bridge into the great meadow, may their humans find comfort in knowing they were loved by these special creatures and that they provided them with excellent lives full of love and cuddles.
Also please send extra prayers and healing wished to Louise’s BFF, Amy, whose bladder ruptured last week. She has suffered through 2 surgeries and will be forever changed, however, her family will provide her the support and care she will need as she hopefully returns home soon.
