Mommy and Peanut went to NY to visit the family over the holiday weekend. They got to spend time with all the little and big humans and, of course, all our extended zoo family. Jazmine, who has lived with Aunt B since 2009, always loves to sit on Mom’s suitcase the minute she puts it down. Mom and V rehomed Jazz from one of V’s co-workers when she was still young and drove her north to join Aunt B. She is the purrfect animal mate for Aunt B because she is quiet and gets into almost no trouble (unless you consider that she broke a lovely serving dish on the server when she tried to jump up into the window before dinner. Since nothing is normally on the server and she always goes into that window, it really wasn’t her fault.) Isn’t she a beauty!
Boots is Mom’s gorgeous tuxedo grand-nephew kitty. He is about 9 or 10 (time flies – are the kids married that long?). He is a big sweet boy and seems to be doing well with the human grand-nieces (4 and 1 1/2). His brother Smudge did not come out for a photo op.
Snickers, the doodle service dog, belongs to Aunt J. She is Aunt B’s best friend, and though not family by blood, she is family just the same. Aunt J lived down the block when Mom and Aunt B were growing up and has always been with us. Sadly, Aunt J has the terrible disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Snickers is her second service dog. This is the first time we met him since they live in Florida. He comes from a group called My Angel With Paws. Service dogs make a huge difference in the life of people with limited mobility (not just blindness). What a sweet boy he is.
Mom always sends us to Sonya’s for our own vacation whenever she is not home. She says that we would not like long trips in the car or meeting other family members since we are so reactive. Best for us to meet them in pictures.
What mischief did you get into today?
