2.25.12 We are free to invent our lives; dogs, not so much…

Miss Constance Kitty taking a nap

{Warning,,, for some reason I am feeling very philosophical today and not waxing very doggy…} If you really could come back as anything you wanted, if reincarnation was something that really happens, what would you be? I think that I would want to be an old person’s cat. I get to laze around all day with my person, get lots of treats, not have a lot of demands put on me, and sleep my requisite 20 out of 24 hours. But, alas, I do not know if that is possible. I realized long ago that I must invent my life here and now and not wait until the next life. So, I invented a life full of love and laughs and furry things. Even though I have to work to earn money (and usually I work about 12 to 16 hours per day), I am very lucky to have ‘invented’ or, at least ‘positioned,’ a job that allows me to be surrounded by my zoo on most days and work in an environment that is all my own (home). No one ever told me that I was free to invent my life (my parents would have thought this an utterly crazy conversation). Probably like most people, my younger life just sort of happened to me.  I did not realize I was inventing my life for a long time, but then, the things I wanted, really really wanted, the things I prayed for, and lite candles for, started to materialize.

In today’s world there are ‘vision boards’ and ‘life plans,’ and there are even people who get paid to be your ‘life coach.’  Looking back (hind sight is always 20/20) I never had a picture but a feeling about my life. I just wanted to love and to be loved in return. I wanted a family around me and I wanted animals. I wanted meaningful work and to do good deeds. I never really visioned owning material things, that was just icing on the cake.  No matter what your circumstance, I do want you to know that it is never to late to invent your life.  To fill it, even if only for the shortest moment of the day, with your dreams and visions, and you will be surprised, how when you start to put out in the universe those things that you desire, in a positive way, they start to come back to you and your life starts changing toward the vision that you have asked for. (And that is how I ended up with 2 dogs and 5 cats, so make sure you realize what what you inventing (hahahaha!))

One warning about this vision thing:  I once asked the universe for some time off from work because I really was not having fun.  I wasn’t very specific about it.  Soon after putting that out in the universe, I broke my leg and had to take several weeks off.  The clearer you are, the more likely you will get exactly the life you want.  So I should have put out there: “please let me be healthy, on a beach, in the sun, having fun with my dogs and favorite humans by my side,”

I think you make your luck, you invent your life, and you make it happen every day. You have the freedom to invent your life – what are you inventing today?

Just another DogDaz rant at the zoo ❤

Bear Hunter?

A friend sent me this picture and said the dog is a rare breed of Newfie breed to hunt bear.

Is this a photo trick?  What a beauty.

2.24.12 Get her off of me!

Sofie is lying on my leg Mommy!

Louise is not a big fan of having any other animal lie on top of her.  Sometimes Sofie tries to snuggle with her and she actually gets up and walks away (it is very sad).  But the other day they were lying in the office and Sofie feel asleep on Lulu’s paw.  Lulu looked at me like, “Mom, help me, she has fallen asleep and I don’t want to wake her, but I want my paw back!”

Make her get off my foot!

I really understand because it is really hard for me to have anyone lean on me for to long.  My arm falls asleep or my leg falls asleep. Poor Lulu, she really wanted to get up and go away, but she was being so nice.

Oh well, I guess I will just go to sleep on her.

Finally, Louise decide what the heck, I will just go to sleep on Sofie and make it even.  It was cute.  Just another DogDaz morning at our house ❤

2.23.12 Do you want some nuts with that?

View of plain Stella from behind Nine

I got a comment yesterday telling me that if I wanted more people to follow my blog I should not use such vanilla titles as ‘Dogs and Their Toys.’  That I should go see what people on yahoo and other sites were saying so that I could spice stuff up.  Well, I replied to the nice helpful person and told them basically – “I like vanilla.” I write this blog for you to read, because I enjoy the connection to other animal lovers around the world, and because I really really really enjoy doing it. (Did I mention I really enjoy doing this?)  I did not do it to attract viewers or try to see how many followers I could get.  Actually, I did not really understand the whole follower thing when I started.  I just liked reading about other people’s animals (especially dogs and cats) and also I like looking at great art of all types (which the internet is such a good vehicle for).  I think I was kind of offended that someone, though probably not meaning to offend, would tell me I needed to spice things up.  I am a ‘no-spice’ person.  Really… ask my family. When I go out to eat, I have to tell them to keep all that spicy stuff far away from my food.  Even pepper. Simple, easy going, straightforward, and plain, works just fine for me.  My Mom always said (may she rest in peace), “If they don’t come, they don’t have to go home,” so I guess I will update that to social media speak and say. “If they don’t like, they don’t have to unlike.”  Thank you, dear Reader, for getting this far and tolerating my very simple rants.  I appreciate everyone that watches the antics of DogDaz and comes back day after day, for the vanilla.  Maybe tomorrow I could add some nuts or sprinkles – but not likely.

Vanilla Mutts (notice Beaver in the background)

Just another dogdaz morning at the very boring vanilla zoo ❤
