On the shortest day of the year, may you find light in the joy of the season!
Did you know that the ‘Christmas Star,’ the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, will be visible tonight (Dec 21). It has been 800 years since this happened. Maybe tonight will bring a miracle full of peace, health, and healing to the world. I can dream, right!
Squash E Bear, I know that you feel me, wherever you are, and that you know how much we miss you.
Fall was your season. Your coat would get so full and fluffy. Oh, how you loved to put your nose high in the air and sniff the change in the wind. It feels like only yesterday that you would crunch through the leaves and make a nest. Ten falls have passed without you and yet, I still see you lying under the big tree, watching for rabbits or squirrels. Now Louise, Sofie, and Lil’ Charles lay where you once did, keeping guard, and ensuring the yard is safe from intruders.
Fall was always our time, Big Guy. Hope they have leaf piles over the rainbow.
There is nothing more interesting and fun than sitting at the front door and watching the world. There are so many people walking by now: puppies, children, squirrels, cars, trucks, and especially delivery people. Bark bark bark bark bark, woof woof, and arf.
I love how the three of them get along for a moment (aka – Sofie doesn’t snarl at Charles) when it comes to watching the neighborhood go by. They are joined together in a common cause of possibly barking their heads off at a postal worker or some dog and its human passing by. I am really liking this no contact food delivery where they leave the stuff outside the door and don’t knock. The goof-balls sometimes don’t even know that something has happened on the stoop and therefore, they don’t bark like crazy. I know that this picture is bluer than black, but I like how it looks.
Do you go crazy when someone is near your front door?
Though this picture was taken only 4 years ago, when she was 7, this picture makes Lulu look like a puppy, sleeping with abandon – not a care in the world. Happy Black and White Sunday!
