Monarch (by Ennuipoet * FreeVerse Photography)
The Monarch butterflies migrate from Canada down the east coast of the US every spring. Since we are midway (Mid-Atlantic), sometimes we are lucky and some stay all summer in our butterfly bushes. – DogDaz

We mostly have black and yellow swallow tails, so seeing the orange Monarch is a nice treat.

While living in Texas, one year the Monarchs who were migrating south to Mexico passed in large numbers through my town. On the plus side, it was amazing. On the minus side, you were pretty much guaranteed to smash quite a few while driving on the freeway. 😦
