I have now read this a number of times and cried each time. I’ve shared it on Twitter and Facebook. It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing it with us. If only more people chose to adopt! x

I have also cried when reading this (every time!), but it truly warms my heart! This is exactly what I think my dog, Buddy was thinking last summer before we lost him. We did exactly what this said, found an unloved dog and filled the empty space in our home and hearts…
Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you so much for posting this…the quote mentioned is exactly how I felt after my first dog, Hopper, passed away. I was so hesitant to adopt again because I didn’t want the possibility of feeling the same sense of loss and immense sadness again. However, I’m so glad I did, because having Taylor in my life has also preserved the wonderful memories I have of Hopper…instead of the memories of him being sick that consumed my mind before my husband and I adopted Taylor. Next week will mark one year since Hopper passed, and I thank you again for this post because it warmed my heart when it could have felt something totally different.

Reblogged this on I Adopted a Dog-NOW WHAT? and commented:
Next week will mark one year since Hopper’s passing. Yesterday, I read this post on one of the amazing blogs that I follow, http://www.dogdaz.com. I cried as I read it, but it warmed my heart at the same time. As hard as it still is to live our days without Hopper, to know that by adopting Taylor, Jeremy and I have honored the memory of our sweet boy is a good feeling.
We love you, Hopper-Boo!
