Louise is a big kisser. She is constantly in my face and always wanting to give me licks and loves. Sofie, ‘Miss Standoffish’ (uber-independent), is so the opposite unless she is scared and then she wants to crawl inside me. Louise likes to stand on me (she always has a paw on me somewhere), which I think is her way of taking ownership of Mommy. I don’t like to be licked in the face (ohhh gross – I know where those tongues have been), so I taught them my version of a kissing behavior. I tell them ‘kiss kiss’ and they give me their faces so that I can kiss them on the cheeks (or give them my cheek and they kiss me).
Louise still sneaks up and licks me in the face (usually when I am lying down). She thinks it is funny. She is a big one for licking my glasses.
Sofie, the reluctant kisser, is secretly happy (I can see her smile) when she gets her ‘kisskiss,’ but she doesn’t want anyone to know.

While both are snugglers, Bella has always been happy to give you a kiss, particularly if you have a hurtie somewhere. Or if your feet are sore {or hot or sweaty!} she likes to give a little puppy relief lick. As she gets older, her desperation for face kisses seems to have diminished a little. Maybe it’s just that she now shares my face with Love Bug and Beary? Beary has always been a very selective kisser. He’ll give your hand or leg a kiss, but if you get a kiss on the tip of your nose you know it’s a good day … and that you’re firmly in his good books! If you get three or four of them in a row it might just be Christmas.

Yes…I love doggy kisses! My cats all have different versions of kissing. Bubby the oldest does headbumps and will lick my forehead on occasion. Buggy will turn his head to the side to let me kiss his cheek. Boo wants to give kisses by cleaning my forehead and ear. Trixie does Eskimo kisses and then gives me her head for a kiss.

I would kiss Mom all day if she’d let me. I am a face kisser and a mouth kisser. And once I even kissed her eyeball. She always says, “Stop that naughty kissing.” Then I give her a break.
