I love this picture of Peanut and Socki taken in 2004. Socki was the most wonderful service dog for Aunt Judi, who has Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Socki was the first service dog we ever got to know and he did everything for Judi. Every year we would come up to New York to have a family weekend and see a show. Socki came to many a Broadway show with us, the Rockett’s at Radio Music Hall, and even the American Girl store. He was amazing.
There was that one time when we went to see “Beauty and the Beast,” and we had to take him into the hall because they were shooting guns and it really upset him. Oh, and that time he met a bomb sniffing dog at the concession stand and they just really got into a conversation, we guess about work.
We miss you Socki. Thank you for teach us about how wonderful a life of service can be.
Have a good year at college, Peanut.
Enjoy your Sunday.
This is part of the Black and White Sunday Blog Hop. Thanks to Dachshund Nola and Sugar for hosting.
Just another DogDaz morning at the zoo ❤

I know. I wish I could say the third goodbye is easier, but it isn’t. Just left her and miss her already.

Sounds like Socki had a happy and rewarding life and gave the same to Aunt Judi. Sweet story.

Aw, so lovely. It’s odd to think out of all the plays you could see Beauty & The Beast would have shooting in it. I’m sure their conversation was all work related at the concession stand. Such a sweet story, thank you for sharing.

I say shooting and Peanut says it was fireworks. Either way it was scary for him.
