Mini Cooper never allows Nine to sleep alone. Wherever he is, she finds him and pushes her way in. I have never had a cat that was so insistent on being with another cat. Nine tolerates her most of the time until he doesn’t. Deep down I think he loves having a little sister who adores him (or not!). Mom adores them both.

Cats are not the “lone wolves” they are said to be – that is a wide-spread misconception. The feral cat colonies that spring up in huge abandoned places show it ain’t so. They could spread and run a mile if they hated each other’s society that much. They don’t. Your two are just another proof: Cats are social creatures. Not pack creatures, losely knitted societies. But still social. With friends (like your two) and family disagreements … They are quite like some Western societies – each to their own, but still not alone.
