Sometimes I need a free hand to be able to pick stuff up. I let them take care of each other. I thread Charles’ leash on Sofie’s, and then Sofie’s leash on Louise’s. As long as I have hold of Louise’s lead since she is the heaviest link in the chain, I find that this works. Sofie hates that Charles pulls on her, so usually, she will sit down and keep him in place (which she did right after I took this shot).
How do you control multiple dogs when you need a free hand?

that’s a super idea to use the heaviest part of the chain … we still work at at that front and we learnt that it is stupid to step on da leash or much more worste to step into da leash LOL

I have knots all along the leashes so if I need to stop on them they don’t slide under my foot. But dogs are too heavy to really hold that way. 🐶

Ha! That’s genius. Mom can barely hang on to 23 pound me while she picks stuff up. I like to get as far away as possible after I do the deed.
Love and licks,
