I believed in Santa for many many years. There was never a religious connection for me when it came to Santa Claus. I figured Santa and his reindeer brought gifts to everyone, everywhere, this time of year. There is no tradition of giving gifts for Hanukkah (it is not the Jewish Christmas). But we would get one small gift and, of course, I thought it came from Santa.
My biggest dilemma was figuring out how he got in the house. We did not have a fireplace, though I knew we had a chimney. Being the very bright child that I was, I figured Santa came down through the exhaust fan over the stove. Made sense to me when I was 7.
Wherever your find magic in the holiday season, DogDaz Zoo, wishes you a fur filled and fabulous Caturday. My your candles burn bright (away from cat’s whiskers or tails) and your donuts be sweet.
You need to understand that Noel is not a real fan of the dogs. All of a sudden she has decided that she will cross the great divide of the living room, leaving her safe, dog gated out dining room, and sit on Sofie’s pillow. The amazing thing is she snuggled down while Louise was fast asleep right next to her. We were amazed. At first I thought she was going over there to cause trouble (like pee on the pillow or something), but, she sniffed and turn around and sat down. Sofie was not happy, came right over and started nibbling on the end of her pillow (basically freaking out that someone would dare take her spot though she rarely sits on her pillow these days), but NoNo did not flinch. Sofie left and Noel and Louise stayed together for a long time that night. Never underestimate the Zoo, that is fursure!
P.S. Yesterday I found her sleeping on Lulu’s brown pillow, but Lu didn’t know, so all was fine.
Noel was mesmerized by the leaves blowing in the blustery wind the other day. I have never seen her do this before. She was transfixed and then tried to catch them as they hit the glass. She ended up knocking over most of V’s little solar toys (yes, they dance on sunny days and drive me crazy with there clickity clack that I can hear all the way from my office). Noel doesn’t seem to mind the toys, but she sure wants to catch those leaves.
Noel is not amused that Nine and Mini Cooper have discovered that Mommy puts an empty box on the dining room table for her. I wish that I could have caught a video last night when Noel was down low in the box, and the other 2 wanted to go in, not knowing she was there, and ‘POP’ she scared them both off the table (for a moment). They are just cracking us up.
This is what you call ‘Double trouble!’ Noel, the Christmas Cat, and Mini Cooper, clearly conspiring about something. Not often do you see 2 cats together at the Zoo without hearing a ‘crash, zip, bang’ after a few minutes. Many times it is a scheme to get Sofie in trouble (interesting that they rarely prank Louise). Usually it is Mini being the instigator. Noel is just an easy mark, and gets blamed for stuff, because she is a little slow on the uptake (if you know what I mean). The other cats know that she moves slow and can’t always figure things out. Do you think they take advantage sometime and set her up? Noel doesn’t care because as long as she gets Mom’s attention she is happy. And Mom is never negative with her because she really does not understand consequence, so what’s the point. With Noel, you just keep loving her and loving her and she is a joy. Mini Cooper, on the other hand, one of the smartest and cuddliest cats in the world, is a bundle of mischief and craziness. Nine usually is the one to scold her, so Mom doesn’t have to (thank goodness for older brothers).
Do your cats scheme against the dogs or each other?
