When you have a fence, and you have 3 dogs, unavoidably, they will always want to know who or what is on the other side. In this case, at the side fence, it is a new black Labrador puppy named Sadie. Gracie, also a black lab, who used to live over there, passed away a few months ago from old age stuff. Now we have a new smell. Always something to bark at. We don’t really want to meet her. We just want to sniff and bark through the fence.
It’s a Wordless Wednesday, so I should let the picture stand on its own, but I thought it was a great representation of each of the dog’s personalities.
Louise is very serious almost all the time but she rarely smiles on a leash, as you can see here. She loves her walks but being outside is worrisome to her and you can see that in her face. Most of Lulu’s smiles are inside the house or running in an open private space. She is my inside happy dog where she feels safe.
Sofie, my inside neurotic, loves to be with me outside and especially likes posing. Her smile is infectious. You would never know that this is the same dog that barks endlessly inside the house and eats through doors. She is my outside happy dog as long as I am with her.
Charles, well, he is just Charles. Serious on the walks because he has a mission and has to keep up with the big dog pace but usually smiling as he trots along. He’s just happy to be included in the event. Charles will not sit down on command which makes it really hard to get good pictures of the group. Inside or Outside Charles is generally a happy guy. He’s my everywhere dog.
Remember last Mischief Monday when I was telling you that Mom gives me a special treat (because she loves me the most) when Louise and Sofie are not home. Well, last week she ran out of little dog bones and gave me one of Louise’s. I was in heaven.
I grabbed that thing with both paws and dragged it over to the best chewing spot on the rug and gnawed away at it. Mom had to take it away when the other’s were coming home so that they didn’t get jealous (or bite my head off, which is also possible).
Just because I’m little doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy big dog toys.
