Noel, the Christmas Cat, and the baby, Mini Cooper enjoying the late winter rays. Mini is leaning on the ‘fire stick’ plant. I know it is poisonous and that it could burn their mouths if they eat it, but they don’t seem to bother with it. This is the second one we have grown in the house. It is also called a Pencil Cactus.

Gertrude’s Request
This was me and Gertrude, maybe 2005. Gerty was a pushy girl when it came to my attention, especially if I was reading the newspaper. She would come out of my office, where she lived 99% of the time, into the dining room, and, at first, ask politely for attention. Then she would get pushier and pushier, until she finally sat on the paper and made it impossible to read.
Today, Noel is the matriarch of the pride. She does not ask politely, She just jumps right on the paper and makes it impossible to read at all. It is all in the Cattitude!

This is one of my all time favorite shots of Noel on the cat tree staring down a toy that is just a wire with some card board on the end. I figure it looks like a bug. Nono is a big starer. Do your furballs see things when nothing is there?
