Whenever I am getting ready to go out, Sofie throws herself on my feet and has a little tantrum. “Please mommy, don’t leave me, what am I going to do if you put your shoes on, that means you are going somewhere, me me me me me.” I find it interesting how she knows the difference between when I am getting dressed but staying home vs when I am getting dressed to go out. Now of course, that does involve shoes, which I don’t like to wear and avoid as much as possible. Maybe the shoes are the difference? She really goes crazy when I go to my business clothes closet, then she figures I am going to be gone for more than a minute, She has even taken to stealing one shoe so that I can never leave her. Silly dog, she doesn’t know that we humans tend to have more than one pair of shoes.

We would steal our Mummy’s shoes, if we could, to stop her going out. Bingo has destroyed slippers and socks before but finds shoes to difficult to chew. Otherwise he would ruin them so that Mummy would have to stay home and feed/hug/play with us all day!

I have a girlfriend whose Airedale Terrier had the uncanny knack of knowing which pair of shoes she was going to wear to work depending on what outfit she had on. He would then go into her closet and pee on one of the shoes in that pair!
