Black and White Sunday: Spring Thaw

09 Mar

20140308-093912.jpg

It did not take much to start the water flowing again.  We are so glad that the big ice has melted, but the water is very, very high, and that scares Mom that we might fall in.  There is still snow and ice around, but Mom thought the glow of the sun on Sofie made this picture feel like a true thaw was here.  We hope.

 Happy Sunday.

Whee hope, for all our sakes, that the snow, ice and frost has really gone but, eeeek, don’t get any closer to that water! It looks rather deep!

Yes, Piggies, it is deep and mushy. That is how rivers are. Mom is mostly concerned that she will have to come in after us, since we don’t know how to get up the bulkhead.

It will be in the 40’s this week, so our snow will slowly start to melt. We have several feet of it, so it will take time, but we feel spring on its way right now.

You folks in the middle have really been socked this year. I understand that Detroit won the worst winter award this year. Thaw thaw thaw

Oh thank you for the validation. It has been so gray and white here that I can lose perspective.

Love your dogs. Glad the sun’s beginning to melt stuff; you must be looking forward to warmer weather, but I’m jealous of your seasons. Here in the Caribbean it’s just Hot, Hotter, and Hurricane. Looking forward to your spring pics!

Thanks Guille. We would take a little hot and hotter right now, but you can keep the hurricane. (We get those here too).

The black and white really captures this time of year (from what I remember) when the sun is shining, but it doesnt quite cut through the chill that is still in the air. Almost made me miss the mainland…b&w has created some nostalgia too. Lol.
