I am dancing a happy dance, meowing a happy song and purring like crazy because of the POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA that helps me give a voice to the cats and woofies who come to me asking for help finding their forever home or a responsible foster home. I am leaping around because I know Social Media enable me to help those who need assistance raising some funds to cover the cost of medical care for a particular need.

Labor Day is an American holiday that was created for all the people that ‘labor’ to have a well deserved rest. On this special day, I would like to pass along a special project that a high school friend of mine is LABORING very hard on and could use all our support to complete.
The Americana Stars Memorial
Doreen is creating a 9/11 memorial constellation, with a different star for every victim, all cross-stitched by hand and more than 200 feet long .
The Americana Stars Memorial is a mural approximately 200 feet long, consisting of 60 separate fabric panels, all cross-stitched by hand. There will be almost 3000 uniquely different stars, one for each victim. Each victim will have their name stitched under their own star. It will include all victims of September 11, 2001 and 1993. All female victims that were pregnant will have a pink star stitched below their names to acknowledge their unborn child (another victim). There will also be a star for Sirius, the explosives-detection dog that died that day.
The Americana Stars Memorial is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the purposes of The Americana Stars Memorial must be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Special Note – The Americana Stars Memorial is having a crowdfundraising campaign on INDIEGOGO from August 1 through October 1, 2014. Come and check it out! And if you cannot participate, please pass it around. The more clicks from viewers who visit, the better chance of it getting onto the first page, where everyone in the world can see it! Thank you!
