When I was in college, a zillion years ago, I too would watch fish TV. It was the rare person in those days that actually had a TV in college and none of us had computers to watch stuff on (plus there was no stuff to watch yet). With 3 fish tanks in the house I still love to watch fish TV. It is so wonderful to follow the different communities and see how they move about the environment. Mini Cooper is funny because she is so sure that she can catch the fish. She stands on the side of the kitchen tank (the one above is the living room tank) and thinks if she places her paw along the side that she can scoop the fish into it. She cracks me up!

Fish TV’s other benefits: it is very calming and there are no commercials.

IT IS COLD OUT THERE, PLEASE TAKE YOUR CATS INSIDE!
Sofie Bear here. When it is really really cold outside Mom does not know what to do with us. She doesn’t want to stay out too long in the cold air or go too far from home, but she wants us to get exercise. We usually walk down to the river and run and run and run. Mom takes us to the the point at the end of the peninsula (its the end of our street) so that she can control how far we can run in any direction when we are off lead. Now you know I would never run off (and that is why I can walk off leash), but Louise is a runner and may get lost (and then she would miss me, and maybe Mom and the kitties too). When we are both leash free we play this game where Lulu chases me at her full labby-hound speed (she is like the wind) and then, little herding-shelty me, I reverse it on her and chase her under the picnic table. Lulu tends to roll me over with all her force but I like it. Mom says I am built for comfort not for speed. We have great fun playing chilly chase.

Everyone seems to be fighting over the kitchen heat vent. Noel is not happy that Mini Cooper discovered her hot spot. She has been sitting on the grate all winter until today when someone else found it. Of course, Sofie and Nine have to get into the action. Look at Noel’s face at the end. She is like “Did I win?”
We all can’t wait until it gets warm again! What mischief did you get into today?

It is so hard to clean up after you have a good time. Whether it is holiday wrapping paper, the dishes, toys, or your blog. But clean up is what I need to do. I love my blog and interacting with all you animals and your humans. But for my sanity, after 2,208 posts and more than 20,600 comments, in 1,815 consecutive days, DogDaz is going to take a break until February 2015.
I am not sure that I can do it (you see I am addicted to blogging and commenting and reading) but I need to clean up and catch up. 31 days without blogging is kind of freaking me out. But it will be a good test of my will power and my conviction to a more manageable 2015.
My Reader and Follows have become so large that I have lost the ability to read and comment on all the sites I want to. And now that I work in another state my work days and commute are crazy long and, as you can guess, my blog time is sorely limited. I must find a more manageable and balanced way to DogDaz.
I believe that a blog is a two-way conversation, and that comments are meaningful; commenting and replying are important to me. I don’t want to unfollow any of my blog friends, but I know that I just can’t give everyone the attention they deserve. This is a dilemma.
DogDaz will return in February. Please come back (our greatest fear is losing you).
Happy NEW YEAR to all!
The zoo and I are going to get a fresh start. Here’s to a cleaner, more manageable 2015!
