Our best labby girlfriend, Amy, had this baby fluff-ball (Havenese, we think) named ‘Jersey Girl,’ visiting, She was only 6 weeks old and weighed about 2 lbs. She was being moved from somewhere in the state of New Jersey, down south to her forever home in Tennessee. We think that 6 weeks is too young to leave your Mommy, but the people that had her said that it was time for her and her mates to be gone. So ‘Jersey Girl’ was passing through on her way to live with Amy’s Aunt. We never saw a dog that was so small. She was the size of Mommy’s sneaker. We were trying to play with her but she did not seem to get the gist of it. Her cousin Amy did not like her, but we thought she was interesting. Mommy wanted to keep her because she was so cute. We can see great mischief with this one.

Our bestest friend, and favorite yellow labby, Amy, has a great pool which we all love. Mommy should get one like this and maybe, just maybe, I will go in it (but doubtful because it doesn’t come with an Amy inside). She is a true water dog and spends most of her time in the river. We like to run and play in Amy’s Mom’s yard (except when I get caught in the rose bushes). It is nice having friends to get into mischief with. Louise and Amy have been besties since they were little. Lulu smiles for her in a different why (since Louise doesn’t like most doggies) and you can tell she loves her friend a lot. Me, well, I like her too (she always has a hidden marrow bone somewhere in her yard that I can find). – Sofie Bear

Mojo wasn’t home today, but Uncle Stan invited us over to swim with baby Zelda in the dog pool anyway. It was so much fun. Louise really wanted to play with Zelda’s toy but she would not go in the pool to get it. I, on the other hand, was brave and got all the way in, at least by the steps. I could like this swim thing, even though I still have trouble with puppies. – Sofie “the fish” Bear

Sofie is so excited that Peanut is home from school in Israel (that was a long year) and back where she is supposed to be, in her room with the big bed that the dogs love to jump on. Peanut captured Sofie being, well…. Sofie. We are all really happy when our cubs come home, even if it is only until they go back out in the big world again in the fall. Sometimes I think the animals are happier than me that she is here – no way!

It always blows me away that the animals think if their heads are under something, they are invisible. Peek-a-boo, I-see-you, Noel! She is a big one for the “hiding in plain sight” trick. And lately, no matter where she is hiding, she always seems to have her paw hanging out. Meow Out Loud. MOL.

The weather has turned incredibly beautiful. The air is clear and the temperature is in the 60s. We love to run around and now we are really thirsty. Mommy says we can’t drink the river water because it is not good for our tummies. Pant, pant, pant… “Mom you better start carrying our water bottle with you when we come down to the dock!”.

The dogs made a lot of new friends at the dog park last weekend. One friend stands out though. Sandy, a 9 year old yellow lab who was just rescued from the animal shelter only hours before. To show her new Mommy what a fun girl she is, she found the only deep mud puddle in the park and proceeded to roll full body in it. Sandy, we wish you and your new Mom lots of puddles, cuddles, and sunshine.

By the afternoon, with a month’s worth of rain in the last 24 hours, poor little Lulu Belle could not contain herself any longer and barked and barked to go outside. I tried to explain that it was torrential rain and she would not like it. For some reason she thinks that rain only happens in the back yard and when we go out the front door it will be different. So out we went in the down pour. After a while we were all so wet it did not matter anymore.
It’s raining,
it’s pouring,
the old dog is snoring.
Bumped her head when she got out of bed,
and she couldn’t get up in the morning.
Rain, rain, go away!
Come again some other day.
