2 Labs and a Sofie tail
We went to Amy’s house and her pool was still open. Her Mom has these really cool giant elephant plants that we like to stand under to get out of the sun. We can’t believe that it is still so hot and yet the leaves are falling from the trees. Sofie got hurt playing in the rose bushes and Mom freaked out because she had little holes in the top of her head, her neck, and ripped a piece of her ear. With all the Sofie hair it is really hard to find the prickers in her skin and the blood just wicked up through the deep fur. She is fine though, but Mom said we had to get out of the pool because the water was not clean and Sofie could get it in her cuts.
Oh, Mom!!!! It’s 90 degrees out – let us swim!!!!

Mojo Rising, Louise’s boyfriend the champion dock diver boy/lab next door, got a dock diving dog pool. Lulu and Sofie have never been in a pool (except the one time when Sofie was a puppy and jumped in the family pool to save Mommy from herself). They’re allowed in this pool because it is for dogs. Lulu was having no part of it, but Sofie, after a little coaching, jumped in. She freaked when she realized, unlike the river, she could not touch the bottom (it is 4 feet all around) and had to swim. Wish I could have photographed the look on her face when she first dog paddled to me with ‘Mom, how do I get out of this thing?” but I was too busy worrying about her. Once she refound the steps, which are big lab-leg height (she had to pull herself up with all her little Sheltie weight), she was fine. She jumped in again a little later for a second try.
Louise? Well, I guess she is more land hound than water lab. BOL.

Crab cages are empty. All the better because we would probably just throw them back anyway. Someday the dogs are going to get their noses clawed. Can’t wait to get that picture.

We were playing in the sports field at the school. Doesn’t the grass look like waves in the water the way it is cut? Mommy made us play goalies at the net (She is always making us pose and we had other things we wanted to do). As we were kicking up the clippings in the grass, all these bugs started to fly, and then a flock of swallows started to dive bomb us and we had to run. One almost hit Mom in the head so she doesn’t have any pictures of that part.

There were literally a zillion yellow and black swallow tails on the butterfly bushes. Ok, well maybe we counted over 30. I wish I had a better camera. They must have just hatched.
