Thank you for being so patient. I know we have been gone since Christmas. We are back now. Mom got unexpectedly ill and didn’t mean to be offline so long. 😦
She promises that she will tell you all about our winter adventures over the next few weeks. Gosh oh, golly gee, it is almost spring, so she better hurry.
Let’s start with December. We got some really nice gifts from everyone. We each got stuffies and squeakies to chew and treats.
Mom made V a pillow of Charles so he can go everywhere they go. It came from a company called Pet Ninja and was shipped from China in this little envelope. Mom thought they had made a mistake because it was so small but when the bag was openned it blew up to be bigger than he actually is. Bark Out Loud.
The bestest present was a painting that K8 made for Mom of us. K8 copied a picture that Mom took of all three of us at the front door and she painted it on to a 2″ canvas. You can follow her process in the pictures below. The whole painting is littler than Mom’s new watch (which Peanut gave her). Isn’t it so cool!
How lucky we are to have such a wonderful family.

DogDaz Zoo loves to decorate at holiday time. I notice that we don’t have any holiday cats. Have you ever seen any outside cat decorations? Maybe I can find some for next year. This year the Bear family is new. My old bear fell apart and I had been looking for a new one for several years. I am so happy that I found one that I could afford (and got a baby too). The little family looks great in the fairy garden.
This is such a magical time of year.

Mom likes when the Christmas and Hanukkah holiday days aren’t overlapping because she gets to buy us more toys. This year she could not resist getting us some very fun stuffies. She said we have to wait until tomorrow night (the first night of the holiday) before we can destroy them. Can you guess who gets which stuffy? We are still working on toys from holidays past, but Mom doesn’t care, she buys us new stuff anyway. Some people would say that she spoils us, but we think we are just the luckiest rescue zoo in the universe. We can smell the latke’s cooking!
Sofie wants to play dreidel (a fun Hanukkah holiday game with a special top) and stole the gelt (chocolate money – dark vegan chocolate in our house), but Mom said that is not for doggies. This picture was truly not a setup, Sofie loves to steal little things.

In 2010, Louise was about 13 months in this picture, she helped us with our first little holiday tree. Once the kids were bigger, they didn’t care as much about decorating the tree (which used to be a very big deal, so much so, that we had to have 2 big trees so that everyone could have every decoration on them), which freed us to start getting ‘Charlie Brown’ trees – little and cute.
Holiday time is a happy time here at DogDaz Zoo. Make sure to keep your furbabies safe and tether your tree to something so that climbing cats and zooming dogs won’t bring it down to the ground. We have a permanent eyehook near where the tree goes every year. In the non-holiday season, it has a cat sculpture over it. Have a wonderful Black and White Sunday!
