Do you have a snuffle? They are mats that are perfect for hiding treats in so we have to work at finding them.
Jolie is absolutely obsessed with nose work; Charles, not so much.
Snuffling is a brain game. This is like dog scent hide-and-seek. Since dogs have millions (or more) scent receptors than we do, this is a great way to activate that part of their brain. According to The Dog People at Rover.com, the scent-processing part of a dog’s brain is about 40 times larger than in humans, making it about 1/8th of a dog’s total brain space.
Snuffle mats have a lot of benefits:
Slow down a fast eater
Encourage reluctant eaters
Help anxious or bored dogs burn energy and distract them
Help with cognitive decline/dementia

I thought I was buying a big new cube for Louise because her’s is starting to come apart. She loves her feeding cube so much. But, it is hard online for me to size things (I always get it wrong) and I ended up with this small one. Since lil’ Charlie doesn’t play with food toys, I gave it to Sofie, who adores it!

Charles here. We like this new toy that Mom got us. We have named him Herman. He is a fun guy. No one has chewed his arms off yet, so he must be pretty strong. Though Mom got us each a new toy, Sofie and I like Herman.
She got Louise this big crunchy squeaky bat, but Sofie decided it was her’s too. In this house, Sofie kind of takes everything. It is annoying. But, I get to sit on the couch and she doesn’t so I am not going to complain too much. Well, maybe a little….
Louise loves her rain cloud. It actually has 2 raindrops that came inside it which are somewhere in the toy box but it is the gray cloud that she wants to snuggle with tonight.
Have a happy Black and White Sunday!
Just another DogDaz morning at the zoo ❤

We all have to share everything at the Zoo. Mom does not like possessiveness or growling. Most of the time the little guy takes the toys and lies on them. But sometimes, Miss Louise, in all her patience and general niceness, has had enough and takes back what is hers (she was first dog in this current pack). All in a day’s fun.
Mom would prefer if the Christmas and Hanukkah holiday days didn’t overlapping because she doesn’t get to buy us as many toys. This year she could not resist getting us some very fun stuffies. Can you guess who gets which stuffy? We are still working on toys from holidays past, but Mom doesn’t care, she buys us new stuff anyway. Some people would say that she spoils us, but we think we are just the luckiest rescue zoo in the universe. We can smell the latke’s cooking!
Louise loves her storm cloud. It has 2 little raindrops in it that you can pull out as separate squeaky toys. She got it in a complimentary Barkbox that someone sent us. It is her favorite at the moment.
Have a wonderful Black and White Sunday.
