Black and White Sunday: d’Ball

I wonder sometimes what the dogs actually see when a toy is just sitting there and they look like it is going to jump up and hit them. Sofie’s favorite toys are cat toys. I call them catnip tea. She loves to suck on them. Is there a catnip for dogs? I guess that is CBD or something like it. What is your favorite toy?

Black and White Sunday: Still Ducky

This was a partial black and white picture of Lulu from DogDaz in 2014.

Louise loved that silly bird. I hadn’t seen it in years until just the other day.

It mysteriously resurrected itself and was sitting on my office floor.

Still looking as Ducky as ever 6 years later. Go figure?

Black and White Sunday: Milky Toes & Sun Flowers (Redux)

On a beautiful 70° in the middle of January, I thought I would revisit a summer post. – Enjoy your Sunday!

7.31.16Louise stands at the edge of the deck for the longest time. I guess she is surveying her territory. On the other side of the pool is a busy bird feeder and there is always a lot of activity going on. This is a really good vantage point from which to see if the villainous squirrels are stupid enough to come into the area. I feel sorry for the squirrels in our yard because when I let the dogs out – zoom, zoom, zoom – they know just where the squirrels are going to be and they run them up the trees, fences, and power lines.

I love this shot because it really shows off Louise’s milky rear toes. The nails are white in those spots and black everywhere else. These are truly the DOGDAZ of summer.

Have a wonderful black and white Sunday!

Black and White Sunday: So-Nose

A soulful Sofie at the top of the stairs. They love it when I come up the stairs and they can be eye to eye with me. I never realized until now that the pink of her nose makes a perfect heart shape.

Have a wonderful Black and White Sunday.

Black and White Sunday: And the Stockings Were Hung…

The animal stocking are always hung so that they can’t get to the contents, or so we hope. I think that Mini, Sofie, and Louise have other plans.

Did you get something new for the holiday? The dogs got some cool new chew bones and the cats got these neat catnip mice in weird wire balls.

Black and White Sunday: 2015

I am having fun looking back. This is 2015. Phone cameras have come a long way since then, or maybe I have just gotten better at taking pictures (this is really grainy, sorry). Have a great Black and White Sunday.

Black and White Sunday: Sketchy Nine

Nine’s behavior has been a bit sketchy lately. Besides spraying everywhere, he has been flying all over the place like a mad man. Definitely, something questionable going on with this Dude.

Black and White Sunday: Boo Charles

I was so excited to find a skeleton version of Charles. I think the head is a little bit big, but it works for me. Happy Black and White Sunday!

Black and White Sunday: Charlie, Up Close and Personal

Charles is such a silly little man. He has become quite a presence at the Zoo.

Never having had such a small dog before (he is about 15 lbs), I am learning all about demanding balls of fur who think they own you. I won’t say that he totally suffers from Small Dog Syndrome, which is a combination of behaviors from whining and jumping up on people, being a diva, demanding food, but he does take some behaviors to the next level for me. There are things that a small dog does that we would never tolerate in a larger breed, such as the constant food begging. The problem around the Zoo is that Mom (me) is not the only person in the house, which means that the rules are not consistent, especially when it comes to Lil’ man. Everyone thinks he is just so cute, or they want to shut him up, so they slip him food, which only makes it worse.

A good thing with Charles is that he does not want to be carried everywhere like many little dog divas do (thank goodness). He actually is not a lap dog which is why we are his 5th home, because he would bite people. Personally, I think he has arthritis. Previous owners may have picked him up quickly because he is little and people do that and then he would snap at them because it hurts or maybe children played with him to rough, which also hurts.

At the Zoo, we try to respect who they are, not who they are supposed to be. We are still figuring him out, that’s fur sure.
