According to Sleep.org – “Most adult dogs sleep from about 8 to 13.5 hours per day, with 10.8 hours per day being average. Compare that to humans, who only need 7 to 9 hours per day. Dogs certainly sleep more than we do, although there are animals who sleep even longer, such as armadillos and koalas.
Over the course of a 24-hour day, dogs spend most of their time sleeping at night, and about 3 hours napping during the day. A dog’s sleep needs change as they age, just like a human’s sleep needs evolve over the course of a lifetime.”
How many hours do you sleep a day? Does your human keep waking you up?
Ever since Louise got sick in the fall she has become a bed hog. When you find yourself sleeping horizontally across the pillows because you can’t stretch your legs out because the dog has taken up most of the bed, you know that your dog is a BED HOG. I am going to start a movement called TAKE BACK THE BED! I am not sure I will win though.
Mom has been lying down on the job for 38 days now because of her foot surgery. She thinks that it will be 18 more days before she can sit at her desk again (she hopes, she hopes). That would be 8 weeks of having her foot in the air. We hope she is right, but we kind of like this lying down thing. We get to be in the middle of everything.
She is the luckiest Mom because she has three doggies protecting her legs from any bad things, like cats coming up on the bed to bother her.
Louise thinks she is a small dog and tries to cuddle up as tight has she can to Mommy’s good leg. It gets a little crowded.
Mom is lucky that Sofie mostly stays on the floor because, with 2 computers, 2 dogs on the bed, a leg cast, a giant leg pillow, and all her files and crossword puzzles, there is hardly room for her on this little bed.
They kind of look like pieces of a puzzle waiting to be fit together.
Charles is lying pretty close to Louise, which means she must really like him. She doesn’t usually like any of the other animals too close for more than a few moments. On the other hand, if she could crawl into my lap and stay there all day, she would.
HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Louise is a velvet dog. No one can refrain from playing with her ears because they are the softest things in the world. When she sleeps she turns into a puppy again. She curls into a little ball and snores like a sailor. Have a wonderful Sunday!
