DogDaz Zoo loves to decorate at holiday time. I notice that we don’t have any holiday cats. Have you ever seen any outside cat decorations? Maybe I can find some for next year. This year the Bear family is new. My old bear fell apart and I had been looking for a new one for several years. I am so happy that I found one that I could afford (and got a baby too). The little family looks great in the fairy garden.
This is such a magical time of year.
What kind of mischief did you get into today? Give us a link to your decorations.

Here at DogDaz Zoo our decorations are all animal themed.
Poor Frosty. Every year he gets peed on.
Hope you have a wonderful Black and White Sunday.

Gertrude, Christmas 2004
This is my favorite picture of my wonderful calico, Gertrude. When K8 was in High School she took a photography class and developed this picture the ‘old’ way, in a dark room. I love the grain and texture.
Gertrude was a scaredy cat. In 1992 I rescued her and her sister, Alice, from a garage that was filled with 100 flea infested kittens. She was shy and quiet and unassuming her whole life (17 years). She lived in my office most of the time and would share her window with Muffin when he would come visit. She and Zachary really liked each other too. Her goal in life was simple, she just wanted to sit on my lap.
I cannot imagine a life without cats!

This was the adoption picture online when we first found Charles (previously known as Chi-chi Forest).

This is Mr. Handsome today.
Happy 1 year Gotcha day, Charles.
You are a superstar here at DogDaz Zoo.
We are so glad you rescued us.

I think maybe you need your own superhero story, what do you think? Charles would make a fun cartoon dog.

“On the second night of Hanukkah, my true love gave to me, 2 mice stuffed with cream cheese.”
Wishing everyone who celebrates a wonderful season of lights and magic.
That is Stella and Noel back before Stella lost her mind (2015) and decided she hated other cats.
I know you thought it was Mini Cooper. They look very much alike. =^..^=

Mom likes when the Christmas and Hanukkah holiday days aren’t overlapping because she gets to buy us more toys. This year she could not resist getting us some very fun stuffies. She said we have to wait until tomorrow night (the first night of the holiday) before we can destroy them. Can you guess who gets which stuffy? We are still working on toys from holidays past, but Mom doesn’t care, she buys us new stuff anyway. Some people would say that she spoils us, but we think we are just the luckiest rescue zoo in the universe. We can smell the latke’s cooking!

Sofie wants to play dreidel (a fun Hanukkah holiday game with a special top) and stole the gelt (chocolate money – dark vegan chocolate in our house), but Mom said that is not for doggies. This picture was truly not a setup, Sofie loves to steal little things.

In 2010, Louise was about 13 months in this picture, she helped us with our first little holiday tree. Once the kids were bigger, they didn’t care as much about decorating the tree (which used to be a very big deal, so much so, that we had to have 2 big trees so that everyone could have every decoration on them), which freed us to start getting ‘Charlie Brown’ trees – little and cute.
Holiday time is a happy time here at DogDaz Zoo. Make sure to keep your furbabies safe and tether your tree to something so that climbing cats and zooming dogs won’t bring it down to the ground. We have a permanent eyehook near where the tree goes every year. In the non-holiday season, it has a cat sculpture over it. Have a wonderful Black and White Sunday!

Zachary, Christmas 2008
Zachary was a Russian Blue. He and his sister, Cuddles, came to us as a pair. They could not be more different. Zachary was quiet and shy and spent most of his time in the kitchen or under a coach. If you sat quietly, he would sit down with you and make a little nest. You couldn’t find a sweeter boy.
I cannot imagine a life without cats!
