Noel, the Christmas Cat, and the baby, Mini Cooper enjoying the late winter rays. Mini is leaning on the ‘fire stick’ plant. I know it is poisonous and that it could burn their mouths if they eat it, but they don’t seem to bother with it. This is the second one we have grown in the house. It is also called a Pencil Cactus.
A rare capture of the 3 dogs and Mini Cooper in the living room.
Starting bottom left, counter clockwise – Sofie is gnawing on her bed. She doesn’t tend to lie on it, but, as you know, she aways has to be gnawing on something to feel secure.
Charles is hoarding all the toys that were on the floor. He really has been liking the big dog’s flat unstuffed animals. Here he has a ‘cat’ cat toy and Louise’s big blue flat dog. He actually enjoys nibbling on the stuffies for a good while.
Louise is supervising. She doesn’t play much unless I am on the other end of a toy or there is food in it.
Mini Cooper is getting ready to do her usual high jump in front of the big fish tank. You can find her flying high in the air quite often. I think she is trying to give the fish a heart attack (lucky they can’t have them). She likes to sleep on that particular dog bed too. I think mostly because that is Louise’s preferred spot.
The cats all like the big dog beds (even Noel sometimes). Interestingly, I have not seen Charles try any of them. Maybe he knows that Sofie gets possessive of anything that ‘might’ be hers, or maybe it is because his ex-pen is right there with his bed from the shelter, or because there is another one on the couch (spoiled new comer that he is).

We’re trying to teach Charles about the water and the docks. Not sure yet that he feels safe.
Do you see the ducks to the left of Sofie in the water. Luckily they were far enough out that the dogs didn’t try to swim on this cold day. And, I am not sure what the little man will do since the adult ducks are almost as big as he is.
Charles also got his first good whiff of the crab cages. Oh, spring will be interesting. I just worry about the Osprey and this 15 lb edible.
Well, actually, he is on top of the cat tree in the living room. Whoever is up there seems to take great pride in the position (for as long as it lasts). I don’t know where he got that scratch on this nose (it looks like a dot in this picture), but I assume it was from Mini Cooper. They were probably fighting over just this thing: Who gets to be king/queen of the tree? Here at the DogDazCats2 Zoo, watching the cats play ‘king of the hill’ is a constant form of amusement for the humans.
Nine is such a handsome guy. Love you, Niney!!!!
Hope you have a warm Sunday!

There seems to be love in the air between Noel, the Christmas cat, and Charles, the Mugwump. Noel does not get this close to any other dogs. Right after Valentine’s Day. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Mom made us watch the Stupid Super Bowl last week. Well, first we watched the Kitty Bowl and then the Puppy Bowl. Noel thought that the half time show was the best ever, She was totally into Lady Gaga flying down from the roof and swinging around on ropes.
Mom made her ‘soon to be’ famous, red lentil vegan chili. It seemed like the purrfect food for football.
Charles (and flat Rudolph) slept through most of the second half. He figured the game was over after seeing the score at half time and decided there was nothing more to watch. Sorry, Charlie, you missed all the excitement. Maybe he is more a basketball kind of guy?
I know it is big on her, but memories are more important than size sometimes. I wonder if she even remembers him, because she was only 1 when he passed over the rainbow bridge to the big meadow in the sky. She digs down deep in the toy box sometimes and brings up some of his old toys that they used to share. Do you think animals remember the ones that are no longer with us? I like to think they do.
Have a wonderful Sunday.
