Mommy says that she is very thankful for us dogs because we have been helping her exercise her bum knees and keeping them safe from cats and other things that may hurt them. We like to lie on the couch with her and hold her fuzzy blanket down. Also, we really like to get in her face when she is trying to do those lie down and lift your leg thingies she has been doing lately. We are all over her as you can see by these pictures she snapped of us helping. Well, I’m helping, Sofie fell asleep (again). – Lulu Belle

Mom took her suitcase and left again. We really wish that she would stop doing that. She only got back just the other day from being down south and now she said she is heading north. Well, I guess it is another week of playing at daycare for us, which isn’t so bad during the day, but we really miss her at night. I have been sitting on her feet since she came home last Friday night, but that did not seem to work to keep her home (I really thought it would). When she comes home Louise and I like to be as close to her physical being as we can. We cuddle up on the coach with her or sit on her as much as possible. Last week when she was gone our big little sister, K8, took us to daycare and let me drive the car (don’t tell Mommy). Maybe this week she will teach me to parallel park. – Sofie Bear, the Speed Demon

Gimme that! It’s mine!
Doesn’t matter what the toy is, if one has it, the other wants it. In the end, Louise usually just gives it to Sofie, since her jaw is so much stronger, she rips it away and then puts it in Sofie’s mouth. Very interesting play my girls do.

Remember Beaver? (Check out: “Good Night, Beaver” for more details) Beaver is Sofie’s lovey. Beaver goes everywhere with Sofie and she can’t sleep if she doesn’t have him. Beaver was a toy that was actually bought for Louise the day I brought Sofie home to live we us. But Sofie decided it was hers, just like she does every toy in the house. Beaver is very important and I now keep him locked up in the kennel during the day because (1) if Louise gets ticked at Sofie, she tries to rip Beaver just to upset her and (2) Sofie tends to get a little protective of Beaver.
I find that some dogs really have an attachment to certain toys (like Sofie does) and others could not care less (like Louise). Because Beaver is now locked up during the day, Sofie has taken to carrying around an ‘airdog’ and whining and carrying on over it instead. At least the ‘airdog’ is a bit more durable, especially out in the yard (where I try to make sure Beaver never goes). One night Beaver did go in the yard and you had to see me walking around with the flashlight to try and find him so that Sofie could go to bed. Oh my, what we do for our furries.
So the other day V came back from the pet store with something really amazing for Nine. A mini Beaver. Now the 2 best friends, Sofie and Nine, have their own matching lovies. Awwwww. Nine’s however, you can fill with catnip. Too cute.

It was a rainy Monday and Mom couldn’t walk so we were stuck inside. Louise wanted to find something special to play with. We removed every toy from the toy box but that wasn’t enough, she was on a mission. I went to mope because Louise was having all the fun. Then… I saw it. – Sofie Bear
