Monday Mischief: Glow In The Dark Dogs
In the United States yesterday we entered our winter time change by rolling back the clock 1 hour. “Fall back, spring forward.” Since Mommy walks us when she gets home from the office, many days it will be dark in the winter months. So she bought us both these reflective vest. She says “now cars can see you when we are walking.” I understand why Louise needs one because she is black, like the night, but me, that is just silly. Mommy really should have one for herself, come to think of it, because she is always dressed in black and the cars may hit her first before they ever see us. We also got to use our vests for Halloween when we dressed up as school crossing guards. My vest is kind of tight but Mommy pulls it to fit on my tummy. We are ready for walks in the daylight again and winter hasn’t even started yet. – Your reflective blond friend – Sofie Bear

Happy 5th Birthday, Louise
Louise – Do you remember when we first met in March of 2010? You were so shy and skinny then. Do you remember that itchy mange you had and the pain of that collar that was embedded in your neck? It took a while for you to trust us but you grew into such a loving and sweet dog in the safety of our home. Do you remember Mr, Squash E Bear? He went blind shortly after you came to live with us and you used to lead him around by his leash. You were such a good helper to him. He really liked you. And then when we got Sofie, I thought you would never talk to me again. You really did not understand this interloper into the quiet of your domain. But you and SoSo have become inseparable. I know that you can’t image a world without her. And I can not imagine a world without you.
We love you Lulu Belle and we are so glad you picked our family to be with. Happy 5th birthday. You have my heart now and furever, – Mom

Monday Mischief: Almost Slide
The dogs will follow me up to the top of the slide platform (which surprises me), but I haven’t been able to get them to slide down with me (which doesn’t surprise me). Sofie came closer this time than ever before; she looked down the tube. I don’t think Louise will ever slide down (it is just tooo scary). They don’t like it very much when I slide down and they don’t like when I climb on anything, now that I think of it. Maybe they’re worried that if I get hurt they won’t get dinner. Very interesting, Bark Out Loud.

Black and White Sunday: Oh, Honey-Dew!
Sofie loves all kinds of melon: honeydew, cantaloupe, even watermelon. Louise won’t touch it. As you can see from this picture, Sofie’s eyes are intent on staring me down for my snack and Louise is clearly distracted by something in the distance (probably a cat). I always offer Lulu some but she spits it out. She doesn’t like fruit at all and will only eat her veggies cooked. Sofie loves fruit and will entertain fresh crunchy veggies anytime. Funny how black and white they are. Have a great Sunday!

Caturday: Bug Off!
Unlike Sofie, who loves to cuddle with Nine, Louise could not care less. Actually, she would prefer to only cuddle with Mommy. But Nine will not have it. He wants to play with her and that is that. Can’t you just hear him saying “Come on Louise, just snuggle a little bit, everyone else does.” And Louise’s reply, “Go away kid and bother someone else.”
I can not imagine a life without cats.
