Ok. I have about had it with Mr. Charles and his constant complaining that he does not get enough food! Charlie eats in a pen because he and Sofie are both food aggressive and she would kill him. So he has learned that the pen = food (my first mistake).
The dogs eat around 4:30 PM and then usually I go about getting my own meal prepared. Before Charles came to live with us (about 3 1/2 years ago), I gave Louise and Sofie a snack around 8:30 PM in their food toys to keep them busy for 30 minutes.

But Charles, who does not understand any food toy that I have given him (not sure if he is lazy or just plain goofy) has started to demand bark (you little dog people know what I mean) for a 2d supper about 10 minutes after the first. So now the 8:30 snack happens at about 6 PM. (My second mistake).
Charles has decided that anytime I sit down, whether at the kitchen table or in the living room, that must mean it is snack time.
Oh my dog!!! I have created a monster. Hence the picture of the unhappy Charlie who jumps in his pen and pines, mopes, and then YIPS! Hard to ignore, though I do try.
Do you get Second Supper?
What kind of mischief did you get into today?

(This is a visit to the 1st Caturday post which was on Dec 1, 2012. Muffin was such a great cat. The funny thing about this collage is that several years after this post one of the kids told me that the picture in the lower-left corner was kitten Nine in his first year with us not ‘The Muffin Man’ (aka Muffy).. Oh well, Loved my Muffy!)
They say that cats sleep about 18 hours of the day but Muffy probably sleeps 23. Now that is a job that I would like to have. We were trying to create a counting book with Muffin and the snowball pillows one season (here is Muffin with 3 and Muffin with 4), but I ran out of snowballs. The cats you may not recognize with him in some of the pictures are: on the left, Gertrude, she passed in 2007 and on the right, Zachary, who passed in 2010. Muffy had this thing about sleeping in my pocketbooks: that could not be comfortable. Those cats sure love FISH TV in our zoo.

We all have to share everything at the Zoo. Mom does not like possessiveness or growling. Most of the time the little guy takes the toys and lies on them. But sometimes, Miss Louise, in all her patience and general niceness, has had enough and takes back what is hers (she was first dog in this current pack). All in a day’s fun.
Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Noel is a funny cat. She wants Mommy’s chair. But lately, Mini Cooper has been owning the chair. So Noel, in all her infinite cat wisdom, has decided to sit on, lie on, and generally squeeze Mini Cooper out. But Mini, being Mini, isn’t moving. I would say it is a Love/Hate relationship, but maybe it is just mutual disdain if their faces tell the story,
Wishing everyone who celebrates a happy holiday. May this evil virus PASSOVER your house and may your spirits RISE as you find celebration in the small things of daily life.

Charles, Here.
Grammie is fine, thanks for asking.
They locked down her Assisted Living community a few weeks ago because of COVID-19. No one there has it, thankfully. There are over 450 residents and tons of workers. Grammie is served her meals in her room and is only limitedly allowed to go out in the hall. She is not happy because she can’t go down to the gym and do her little bicycle machine, which she was doing every day until this happened. At almost 95, even a little movement helps keep her legs from swelling and atrophy setting in.
Mom dropped off a care package Sunday, to the security desk, before they locked the campus to any traffic. Grammie called immediately to tell us that she was so excited and that it felt like Christmas. We loaded 2 big canvas bags with tons of crackers, pretzels, candy, cereal, lotions, soaps, personal stuff, and we even made a big album of family pictures. Grammie doesn’t see very well, so the pictures were really big. She especially liked the ones of me.
Please make sure to reach out to your seniors by phone so they feel less alone during this isolation period. Even just a short hello can make them feel thought of and valued.
Stay well and wash your paws.

March is supposed to come in like a LION and go out like a LAMB. But it seems like it went out like a LION too. Days turn from sunny and cold to overcast and mild to overcast and cold to ……

Stay home with your humans and wash your paws!
