Monday Mischief: Leave My Bed Alone!

I know that it has only been since July that Jolie has come to live with us, which in dog time is not long. This has been a very big change for a dog that lived 6-1/2 years in a cage with other dogs and only went out maybe once a day.

Jolie is very protective of her kennel. She especially does not want me to clean the mat or the blankets. Maybe she is afraid of losing them? Maybe there was only a cold floor in her previous one?

I gave her Louise’s sheepskin to keep her warm and she loves it. Lulu came with that sheepskin from her foster when she was a puppy and around here we pass things forward when we can.

Jolie has started to disappear into her kennel whenever she hears loud noises or voices. It is her safe space. But recently she puts herself to bed around 8:30 PM and just stays in there. I am so glad that she has a place she feels safe in, but sorry, baby, Mom’s gonna wash those smelly blankets.

What kind of mischief did you get into today?

Black and White Sunday: Watching The Day

There is nothing more interesting and fun than sitting at the front door and watching the world. There are so many people walking by now: puppies, children, squirrels, cars, trucks, and especially delivery people. Bark bark bark bark bark, woof woof, and arf.

Black and White Sunday: 2 Goofballs

Sofie and Charles agree on one thing when Mom is sitting at the kitchen table, she must be having something to eat, therefore, we must look as pitiful as possible so that she gives us some of it. Sorry but that just doesn’t work, most of the time, but it does, some of the time, so we try it all of the time, because, what do we have but time.

Black and White Sunday: Spring Snooze

4.12.15We are so excited that we can sleep out in the spring sun again.  The deck is warm, though wet, on a spring afternoon.  I am finding all these really cool things that I lost in the yard over the winter.  I even brought Mom a squirrel bone yesterday, but she made me drop it and threw it away.  I don’t see why I can’t eat dead smelly animals? It is my yard! – Sofie Bear (aka Soda Pop)

This is part of the Black and White Sunday Blog Hop. Thanks to Dachshund Nola and Sugar for hosting.
