The Summer Dog Days of DogDaz are finally here!
We are taking a summer break.
Mommy is going to roll on a beach somewhere and kick up some sand.
Everyone needs a break sometime.

Monday Mischief: Cats Up – Dogs Down
You would think that my animals never saw food before in their lives; 6 animals, 7 different foods, plus veggies twice a day (not including the snacks that I know V gives the cats). Everyone wants to be in THEIR SPOT or they don’t want to eat. Cats on the counter – dogs on the floor (or the dogs will gobble it all in a second). Nine likes privacy, so I hide him behind the cat food canister. I moved Mini Cooper recently next to Nine because she used to eat in front of the fish tank and was getting too distracted and never finished. Noel, of course, is in her window. Heckle and Jeckle Louise and Sofie chow down on the other side of the room in their puzzle slow bowls. Stella is in her private suite. I have to monitor or Noel and Sofie will gang up and eat everyone else’s food. I have learned that if I go do something in another room and don’t pay attention for more than a minute, there will be chewed bowls and even canisters on the floor very quickly.
Can you see the tape holding the lid of the canister together and the chew holes? Mommy left the room 🙂

Caturday: Yup! She Gets Me
I know Mom speaks Cat because she clearly understands what I say. Mostly I talk about food – wanting it now, wanting more, wanting a snack… Sometimes I want her to scratch my head or my back. Sometimes I tell her to pick me up and turn me upside down, like when I was a baby, but I also tell her that I hate when she does that, until she cuddles me really close and I close my eyes and remember. Yup! My human understands me. – Noel, the Christmas Cat (aka Queen of the DogDaz Zoo)

Caturday: Keeping Cool
It is 105 F degrees today (41 C).
Nine doesn’t understand that he would hate it outside.
So, he is giving me that look.
You know the one.
The look that says, “how come you and the dogs can go outside but we cats have to stay indoors all the time.”
I hate when they give me ‘that look.’
Sorry lil’ boy, it is for your own good.

Caturday: B A C O N !!!!
One of my all time favorite K8 shots of Noel. Hard to eat when you have 6 vultures waiting to pounce on whatever is on your plate. Sometimes I think the cats are worse than the dogs. The dogs understand ‘leave it!’ I haven’t been as successful training the cats.

Caturday: Reading With Cats
Gertrude’s Request
This was me and Gertrude, maybe 2005. Gerty was a pushy girl when it came to my attention, especially if I was reading the newspaper. She would come out of my office, where she lived 99% of the time, into the dining room, and, at first, ask politely for attention. Then she would get pushier and pushier, until she finally sat on the paper and made it impossible to read.
Today, Noel is the matriarch of the pride. She does not ask politely, She just jumps right on the paper and makes it impossible to read at all. It is all in the Cattitude!
