So glad you are joining me today for the Dogs N Pawz Blog Hop called Tuesday’s Tails! New posts go up on Tuesday but you can link up and post when you want all week-long. The whole purpose is to feature cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, etc. so when you link up is up to you! Even pets from PetFinder, are fine. Let’s just get them all homes!
Dogs N Pawz said “I also want to encourage all of you to share each other’s Tuesday’s Tails posts on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and whatever other social media channels you use. The more we share the more likely we are to get the word out!”
Let’s hop to it! Today we are featuring 2 really cute pups, Hank and Moose. Who can resist that cuteness!

Late addition to post: Many of you have seen Madge’s face here for a few months now and are familiar with her story. Unfortunately, this might be her very last pleas for help unless someone can help Canine Nation change Madge’s situation for the better. Madge has been kenneled altogether for over three months now and is completely miserable. In her time with Canine Nation, she’s sadly spent a majority of her time in a cage at various facilities and because of this her separation anxiety has worsened as well as her fear and defensive behavior with other dogs. She has gone absolutely kennel crazy and barks constantly, pacing day in and day out. It is obvious she cannot continue the path she is on now. This is their last plea for help for Madge as they have run out of options and funding and are desperately in need of a foster. Madge craves attention and human interaction as any dog, especially a previous abuse case, does. Madge needs the help from a loving, patient home now more than ever. She cannot make it further without your help. Please email caninenation@gmail.com ASAP if you can help. Madge needs your help today!

Just in case you ever wondered what happens in the above ground parking garage when you are gone. I saw these 2 pigeons trying to break into this car. Really! I missed the shot of them pecking on the window and trying to get in. Next time I am parking outside where it is safe. Enjoy your Sunday!
This is part of the Black and White Sunday Blog Hop. Thanks to Dachshund Nola and Sugar for hosting.

Major Catnip Bust Rocks Local Community
The DEA announced that, in partnership with local law enforcement, the agency has successfully closed a six month investigation into major catnip trafficking syndicate based in the small town of Gibbs Falls, North Dakota. The operation ended with 12 arrests and the seizure of over 2,000 pounds of catnip. Street value: $1.4 million.
“We’re happy to get all that nip off the streets,” said agent Monica Payne, who lead the undercover operation, posing for months as a catnip buyer.
The cats involved in the ring were importing the illicit substance through Canada. Most of it was destined for Midwestern cities like Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago and Detroit. But what made this ring so dangerous, said Payne, was that they were also “cooking” the catnip into a highly additive designer drug known on the street as “scratch.”
“Scratch has ruined a lot of lives,” said Payne. “And cats only get nine.”

Both Gertrude and The Muffin Man (aka Muffy) are gone (picture from 2011), but sometimes, when I look to my left from my computer, out of the corner of my eye it seems like they are still there under the window. But alas! They are not, it is just a wisp of cat hair floating by.
I can not imagine a life without cats!

Penguin watching made with data.
Before data became a household name, zoos depended on good weather and maybe the birth of a cute, baby elephant to draw crowds. Now they’re able to keep visitors coming with social media and analytics. Like The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington. It feeds the public’s interest in the zoo with data by taking what they learn from comments on social media and offering special deals and membership events on the fly.Explore more stories →
