Black & White Sunday: 12.16.12
This was the first ‘Black & White Sunday’ post I ever did. It was December 16, 2012. I definitely have gotten better at taking pictures of the goofballs in the last 9 years.
Come on Louise, let’s play!
When you have a dark dog and a light dog, getting the right camera exposure is really hard. Sofie is on my lap on the couch and Louise is on the floor. Yes, those are my piggy pajamas she has her head on (bottom right corner); they are purple. The caption should probably read something more like: “This is my Mommy, so go away!” which seems to be a constant lap battle around here. – 12.16.12

Black and White Sunday: Which Way Should We Go?
The three of them all pointing in different directions made me think about that scene from The Wizard of Oz where Dorothy meets the Scarecrow and doesn’t know which way to go:
Dorothy: Now which way do we go?
Scarecrow: Pardon me. That way is a very nice way…[pointing]
Dorothy: Who said that?
[Toto barks at the Scarecrow]
Dorothy: Don’t be silly, Toto. Scarecrows don’t talk!
Scarecrow: It’s pleasant down that way too!…[pointing in another direction]
Dorothy: That’s funny. Wasn’t he pointing the other way?
Scarecrow: Of course, people do go both ways [pointing in both directions] That’s the trouble. I can’t make up my mind. I haven’t got a brain. Only straw.
Dorothy: How can you talk if you haven’t got a brain?
The Scarecrow: I don’t know. But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don’t they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you’re right.

Charles here: I do not understand why these humans want to just sit and watch the idiot box all evening and not give me tons of treats and play with me all night. I bark and give them hints, but they just don’t get it. I am bored. Entertain me, people!

I could have taken this picture of Louise on the deck just today and it would be the same as in April 2016. Why black dogs love the sun, I do not know. But both Lulu and Charles love to lie on the deck in the sunlight.

One of the best things about Charles is that he is generally a happy fellow. He can be pretty demanding for 15 lbs, but as long as he gets his way, he will smile and dance for you. Happy Black and White Sunday!

DogDaz Zoo: Christmas Star for Solstice
On the shortest day of the year, may you find light in the joy of the season!
Did you know that the ‘Christmas Star,’ the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, will be visible tonight (Dec 21). It has been 800 years since this happened. Maybe tonight will bring a miracle full of peace, health, and healing to the world. I can dream, right!
