Today is Follow-up Friday hosted by Jodi from Heart Like A Dog. This is where we review the week behind so that we can launch into the week ahead (or something like that). But today, I am going to rant about the last 6 months, if that is ok with you?
I don’t know if I have blogged about Sofie’s increased obsessive behavior. Barking at every sound, having to gnaw on something constantly (including herself). Dr, Kate says she is a herding bred and needs a job. Great! I need a job too! That doesn’t mean I gnaw on my arm (well maybe). She has been diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I guess I have to find a flock of sheep and get her herding. But it is minus 12 degrees Fahrenheit outside so I am not going to be able to sheep herd anytime soon. I am trying to keep her busy (actually both of them) in the house and I bought her a ‘Thunder Shirt’ (she is wearing it in this picture) to try to calm her from the sounds of life and to also make her feel more secure. Has anyone tried a shirt for OCD? When do you put it on? Did it help your dog?My theme for 2014 is ‘Controlling Chaos.’ That seems to be my life right now. Managing the development of my business while maintaining my sanity with my zoo, my family, and my health. My health is stress stress stress, so I really need to change that..Ah, but this is a blog about the animals, not about me, so I will leave complaining for another day.
That’s it for the week. Thanks for playing along with us. Check out the hop below and you can go play with others.

K8 caught this shot of Sofie waiting on the other side of the laundry room cat door. No wonder the cats hide.
(Oh, yes, duct tape is my answer to every thing that needs fixing around the house.)
Happy Wednesday.

Today is Follow-up Friday hosted by Jodi from Heart Like A Dog. This is where we review the week behind so that we can launch into the week ahead (or something like that).
Today is Friday the 13th. It doesn’t bother me, but some people have triskaidekaphobia (the fear of the number 13). Now that is a wild phobia to have. Personally, 13 has always been a good number and day for me.
It is really nice to be back in the States and home with my humans and furries. The dogs and I are back in a regular walking routine, despite Mother Nature trying really hard to force us in side. Snow, slush, sleet, hail, you name it, but mostly really really cold rain.
Working hard to return to a regular daily blog hop routine but that seems to be harder than you think. We started this week with Caturday and featured our Noel waiting for the snow fall. She is such a sweet girl. White on white.
Black and White Sunday was a shadow of Lulu Belle and me walking in the winter sun. Sometimes that is the only way I can get a picture of me and the pups.
Monday Mischief showed the doggies with big fluffy snow flakes, except the flakes seemed to be invisible. The only way you knew that I was telling the truth was by looking at Louise’s black fur. Bark Out Loud (BOL).
We did not know what was in store from the weather until later in the week. Wordless Wednesday caught Sofie from the upstairs window waiting on a newly snowed on deck for Louise to run by. They dogs really like slipping and sliding in the new fallen snow.
That’s all I was able to hop for the week – but of course, everyday there is a DogDaz Zoo pic for you. Thanks for playing along with us. Check out this Friday hop below and you can go play with others.

K8 caught a great shot of Sofie in the storm from the upstairs window. It had just started and there were large slushy flakes coming down. The deck bench seems to be Sofie’s new spot to oversee the yard. Can you guess who she is looking at or what she is waiting for?
Happy Wednesday!

Sonya sent me an email with pictures and said that Louise and Sofie are doing fine staying in her care and with all their friends.
They seem to be having a relaxing time while I toil away in China working. Ahhh, it is a dog’s life for sure.
They all went on a walk in the woods which must have been fun.
![IMG_1299[1].JPG image](https://dogdaz.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/wpid-img_12991.jpg?w=645)
Sonya said that Sofie has been busy each night protecting them from foxes (or possums or raccoons or something — that they can’t see) and from deer.
They have a foster, Dee Dee, in the red harness next to Louise in the bottom picture, that actually whines even more than Sofie!
Dee Dee really likes Sofie, Sonya said. She thinks it’s because Dee Dee used to live with a blonde Cairn terrier that Sonya just placed in a new home a few days after they come in to rescue.
That is Louise in the middle of the dalmatian pack. The back row is Oreo, Millie & Jolene. In front of Jolene is another black dog, Spunky and Sofie is under the chair on the right.
This sure made me smile a million miles away – Thanks Sonya for taking good care of my puppies.

On my way out of the door to China, I received the Dragon’s Loyalty Award from Meekucat! Thank you so much. I have done my best to comply with the rules below. We greatly appreciate the honor.
1. Display the award on your site.
2. Link back to the blog that gave it to you.
Thank you MEEKUCAT!
3. Pass it on to 15 blogs (only 15 – I can’t do it – actually, you know me, I would pass it to all of you, but I picked some of my top commenters (in no particular order) as a thank you for your Loyalty).
This Abundantly Delicious Life
4. Tell people 7 things about you.
(1) Nine is our 9th cat.
(2) When Louise is tired she will go sit outside her kennel until I open the door so that she can go to sleep.
(3) Sofie will sit on the other side of the room from her kennel and will refuse to go to bed, just like any respectible 3 year old.
(4) Noel does not like to poop in the pan (you may not have really wanted to know that – sorry).
(5) Stella likes to eat her dinner in the kitten room, even though she is 2 and everyone else eats in the kitchen.
(6) Some animals really leave a hole in your heart and I miss Muffy and Squash almost every day.
(7) I am going to Shenzhen, China for the next 6 weeks for work (I got laid off in July and started my own company in August and I take work where I can, and this is the first pay engagement). I have set up the blog with special everyday posts because I am not sure if WordPress access will be available where I will be working. I do hope that everyone will keep viewing DogDaz Zoo everyday until I return in mid-December. There are some really special days between now and then. and if you don’t visit, you may miss the fun (and the parties). I ❤ my blog friends.

I thought I would be gone by now, but, snafus being as they are, I have not been able to get my Chinese Visa because of a ton of different issues, and now it looks like I will be home for another 2 weeks. That gives me 2 more weeks to enjoy the fall, when it stops raining, and to be with my family and furries.
Black and White Sunday was a rerun of my favorite Noel picture. We have these silly cardboard things on the ends of heavy gage wire, that kind of look like bugs. It was just such a perfect moment. Duh?
Monday Mischief was our last swim in our friend Amy’s pool. And, boy were we lucky we did that because the weather turned to freezing rain and won’t stop. One day summer – next day winter – around here. Sofie is doing fine after her tangle with the rose bush. The tip of her ear is a little ragged, but she will live.
I was so consumed with arrangements for the China trip that I forgot to post Tuesday’ s Tails (sorry), but Wordless Wednesday was Noel again, this time hiding behind the cactus in the kitchen window. Since she is the Christmas cat (yes, we adopted her at Christmas time, and she came with the name Noel) – I decided she is a Christmas Catactus. (MOL)
Thankful Thursday brought to mind all the smells and sounds of the fall season. Even though we had torrential rain from the backend of a Hurricane named Karen. Lots of Followers commented how much they love fall too.
That’s it for the week. Thanks for playing along with us. Check out the hop below and you can go play with others.
