Today is Jolie’s 9th Birthday!
It is hard to believe how fast time flies with this wonderful, silly, little creature. She came to us when she was 6-1/2 years old but it feels like she has always been here.

Mini Cooper just adores her brother, Nine. Where ever he is, she is not far behind. At night you may find them in the laundry room window cat bed, all cuddly and warm. Such is life at the zoo.

Louise wearing Squash E Bear’s Valentine collar.
I know it is big on her, but memories are more important than size sometimes. I wonder if she even remembers him, because she was only 1 when he passed over the rainbow bridge to the big meadow in the sky. She digs down deep in the toy box sometimes and brings up some of his old toys that they used to share. Do you think animals remember the ones that are no longer with us? I like to think they do.

I am not sure that I would know how to be in the world without the love of my pets. They ground me. They force me to be present and caring. They love me at my lowest, at my highest, and even when I have not brushed my teeth or combed my hair. They keep me honest and they make me smile. I am a better human because of my pets. Thank you Louise, Sofie Bear, Noel, Nine, Stella, and Mini Cooper for letting me be your caretaker. You are my furry heart.

Mini moved in on Nine sleeping in the pink cat bed in my office. He was not going to give up his spot, so she just plopped her little self down next to him. He actually adores her, everyone does (except Stella). May you have a wonderful Valentine’s day! Hope you are surrounded by love and furriness.
