Dog-gone it’s hot! These must be the DOGDAZ (dayz) of summer.
We have so much fun swimming with Mojo and Zelda in their dog pool.
Those Labradors love to swim.
Lulu will not get in the water, no matter how hot it is. Maybe it is because she is more of a Hound dog than a Lab. Who knows? She hates to get wet.
Sofie love love loves to get down and splashy. It takes 3 days for her Sheltie coat to dry but she doesn’t care. BarkOutLoud!

Mom keeps taking us for walks on these terrible hot and humid days when all we want to do is sit in the grass and pant. Doesn’t she understand that dogs are not meant to be outside on days like this. She should move somewhere that the weather is always nice, like California. We hear that you never have to cancel anything in California because the weather is always beautiful. But then again, we also heard the ground shakes sometimes and there is drought and fires and mud slides. I guess a few humid weeks in the Mid-Atlantic may not be so bad after all.

I miss our cuddles and our long walks, just me and you.
I miss the way you would know exactly where I was at all times, even when your eyes could not see anymore.
K8 was right, you were an angel in fur sent especially for us.
Thank you my lil’ man, for sharing your time with us.
We still miss you, even all these years later, every day.
Your passing was the reason I started DogDaz.
You are part of my soul, forever & always.

Independence is not something to be taken for granted. There are so many people to thank for the wonderful life I are able to have. Thank you to all the people who fought to give us the freedom that we so enjoy here in the United States. Happy birthday to the USA. Here is hoping age brings wisdom in 2016.

Sand is so cool. Especially when you have a triple coat of fur like I do. The Osprey platform disintegrated in the water after all these years, so the Sea Eagles moved to the tree over the boat ramp. Mom Osprey does not like that we dogs were playing around her tree trunk. Dad Osprey swooped us, but our Mom was not fast enough with her camera to get a good picture. Life on the river is RUFF..

Peanut walked in her commencement last month. Did I tell you that the university had a puppy raising program? Puppy Raisers of the University of Delaware (PROUD) is a registered student organization that raises puppies for ‘The Seeing Eye.’ The Seeing Eye is a guide dog school that breeds and trains Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, and Lab-Golden crosses to become guide dogs for the visually impaired. PROUD consists of both puppy raisers and puppy sitters whose job is to expose the young dogs to as many situations as possible to prepare them for their future job as a guide dog. To help with this, the puppies come with students to many of the places they go including class, club meetings and events. The club has special approved housing areas where the puppies live with the student. It is a very time-consuming commitment, as the raisers are responsible for the puppy’s complete care, as well as, basic obedience and manners. How rewarding.

The first days of SUMMER and every family was busy teaching their youngsters to swim. There was a paddling of very little ducklings and also a raft of adolescent ducks on the creek and several gaggles of geese on the river.
We want to help them swim.
Mom says no!
We say “No fair!!!”
It’s summer and we want to splash.
