4. Tell people 7 things about you.
(1) Nine is our 9th cat.
(2) When Louise is tired she will go sit outside her kennel until I open the door so that she can go to sleep.
(3) Sofie will sit on the other side of the room from her kennel and will refuse to go to bed, just like any respectible 3 year old.
(4) Noel does not like to poop in the pan (you may not have really wanted to know that – sorry).

(5) Stella likes to eat her dinner in the kitten room, even though she is 2 and everyone else eats in the kitchen.
(6) Some animals really leave a hole in your heart and I miss Muffy and Squash almost every day.

(7) I am going to Shenzhen, China for the next 6 weeks for work (I got laid off in July and started my own company in August and I take work where I can, and this is the first pay engagement). I have set up the blog with special everyday posts because I am not sure if WordPress access will be available where I will be working. I do hope that everyone will keep viewing DogDaz Zoo everyday until I return in mid-December. There are some really special days between now and then. and if you don’t visit, you may miss the fun (and the parties). I ❤ my blog friends.

Today is Follow-up Friday hosted by Jodi from Heart Like A Dog. This is where we review the week behind so that we can launch into the week ahead (or something like that).
I thought I would be gone by now, but, snafus being as they are, I have not been able to get my Chinese Visa because of a ton of different issues, and now it looks like I will be home for another 2 weeks. That gives me 2 more weeks to enjoy the fall, when it stops raining, and to be with my family and furries.
Black and White Sunday was a rerun of my favorite Noel picture. We have these silly cardboard things on the ends of heavy gage wire, that kind of look like bugs. It was just such a perfect moment. Duh?
Noel, the Christmas Cat
Monday Mischief was our last swim in our friend Amy’s pool. And, boy were we lucky we did that because the weather turned to freezing rain and won’t stop. One day summer – next day winter – around here. Sofie is doing fine after her tangle with the rose bush. The tip of her ear is a little ragged, but she will live.
Mom! Louise has all the toys and she isn’t sharing.
I was so consumed with arrangements for the China trip that I forgot to post Tuesday’ s Tails (sorry), but Wordless Wednesday was Noel again, this time hiding behind the cactus in the kitchen window. Since she is the Christmas cat (yes, we adopted her at Christmas time, and she came with the name Noel) – I decided she is a Christmas Catactus. (MOL)
Thankful Thursday brought to mind all the smells and sounds of the fall season. Even though we had torrential rain from the backend of a Hurricane named Karen. Lots of Followers commented how much they love fall too.

As the winds from Hurricane Karen swing back into the Mid-Atlantic, we are saying good-bye to the unusually hot Fall, and hello to more seasonable October weather (cold and wet). We have been very thankful for the added warmth that has allowed us to run around the river for a longer time and I am sure that the boating people were happy for extra days at sea. But now, with the dark mornings and the shorter days, it seems only right that the leaves actually fall to the ground, and that the earth begin her closure toward the cold months. I am a Fall person. It has always been a time of introspection, of pulling in, of preparing for the long dark time, after harvest. I love the colors, and the sound of the wind, and the cooler nights. I can’t say that I like the darker days, but they do allow for warm fires in the fireplace and soup and hot tea. Thank you, Great Spirit, for all the wonders of the universe that we are able to enjoy, every day. And, thank you for Fall.
